I had been buying the high-end, very expensive cases from a well-known case-maker, but was unhappy with the durability of the belt holster/clip and the price point. When I came across the Falcon case and holster for my new iPhone 12 mini a couple of years ago, I decided to try it out — the price was excellent, shipping was free and fast, so what was not to like?
Turns out that, even though it’s a bit of a pain to extricate the phone from the case, it offers fantastic protection. The holster design is also far superior to the other company’s, and though I bought a spare just in case, I haven’t needed it.
The one knock I have on the Falcon case is that the face-plate is not available separately. Over the course of two years of hard use, mine became very scratched and scuffed. The previous design (from 2020) didn’t have the little camera lens cutout that the new cases (2022) now have, so it became impossible to use Face ID or to take a selfie that didn’t look smeared in petroleum jelly.
I bought the new black case (my previous one was blue) because of that problem, and was delighted to see the cutout when it arrived in the mail. I requested a warranty replacement for the blue case, which the company did after asking for a photo of the case. The replacement was free and fast, but the company used my new case as the basis for the warranty fix, not the 2020 purchase, so I no longer have a warranty on either the new case I bought nor the new one that arrived (black) as a replacement.
Those little niggles are the reason I gave four rather than five stars, but I highly recommend this case for anyone pondering a purchase.
